In this article we propose a reading of the work of María Rosa Lojo A woman of the end of the century from an interdisciplinary approach (literature and psychoanalysis).
We emphasize that Lojo, as a writer and as a literary critic, went through Mansilla´s production in an illustrious way; investigating -from fiction- the world of this nineteenth-century Argentine author.
That is why, as objectives, we sent out to identify in the novel´s diegesis the construction of Eduarda Mansilla´s identity and subjectivity, in order to recognize marks in the discourse that would allow us to trace a path in the course of the novel Mansilla´s life, as a literary character.
For this purpose, and from the theoretical frameworks offered by literary studies and psychoanalysis, we carry out a hermeneutical and discourse analysis work.
These analysis tools allowed us to understand that an encounter between Eduarda Mansilla and herself can be seen, discovering herself as a writer an as a woman on the threshold of the end of the century.
