The article aims to present the main lines of research that link non-verbal communication and the field of security.
To achieve this goal, the state of the art of the subject was elaborated through a systematic review of the most important contributions of said interaction of knowledge in the last three decades.
To do this, special emphasis was placed on the referents of each area, on the most outstanding contributions, and also on the gaps, that is, those questions that have not yet been studied.
In this way, it is expected that the essay constitutes itself, in a potential contribution to the field studied.
