Abstract

The essay analyzes the concept of government communication and proposes an analytic model. It states that a government's communication policy performs multiple tasks: it contributes offensively to maintaining or increasing the flow of dominant opinion that
allowed an election to be won; it manages the distance between what society thinks and what politics does; it defensively contributes to preventing the flow of opinion that the government expresses from disintegrating in crisis scenarios and interrupting the government story or the myth of government.

It also works in the idea that the general objective of neoliberal political communication’s general purpose is to concentrate income and wealth while the main aim of political communication in the national and popular field seeks to achieve the distribution of these resources.
